Setting up playgrounds for your children
Playgrounds offer a lot of developmental benefits for children by allowing them to play freely and this helps to inculcate their mental and emotional development. Playing in a structured environment like a playground develops their spontaneous imagination and this is an essential tool for developing a strong sense of well being. Playing with other children helps to foster a feeling of togetherness and this manifests itself during their adult life.
When setting up a new playground you should take into account the number of children that are expected to be playing there at any given time. Planning is essential as any new playground will attract a lot of attention and it would not be worth the effort if there is overcrowding on the structure, turning it into a safety hazard. A good idea would be to take the advice of the children that would be eventually playing there and they can contribute by sketching out their dream playground. You can get the basic idea for the playground from these sketches and take it from there on.
After the design has been agreed upon, you would need to get your finances in place by getting an estimate of the equipment to be installed, which would include the cost, freight, tax and installation.Playgrounds are pretty expensive and raising the required funds will always be a major issue but the environment that will be created for the children where they will have happy memories in the future, will more than compensate you for the present troubles.
There are plenty of choices for playground equipment these days and they come with a host of safety measures as these playground sets must pass a test of industry standards in order to be sold in the market. These equipments use minimal steel as it has been replaced by soft plastic, recycled rubber and nylon ropes. Plastic posts and decking help keep the equipment from rotting or splintering. As a result they are easy to maintain and last considerably longer.

The Kentucky Derby is one of the most prestigious horse races in the world. It classifies as a Grade 1 stakes race for horse that are three years old. The Kentucky Derby is always held in Louisville, Kentucky and draws huge numbers every year. The race is held on the first Saturday in May and is 1 1/4 miles long. Churchill Downs is the site for the race and people tune in from all over the world to see “The Run for the Roses”. Every year horses and trainers vigorously prepare to enter and win this anticipated race. Many times, there are big upsets and relatively unknown horses will walk away with the purse.
The 2007 Kentucky Derby, held on Saturday, May 5, and sponsored by Yum! Brands, proved to be another exciting race to be put down in Derby history. It featured 20 different three year old colts who all were nervously waiting for the snap to sound and for their chance to break out of the gate. The $2 million dollar purse made trainers, owners, and bettors a bit nervous as well.
Earlier in the week it had been rainy and muddy but the sun came out on this Saturday morning as if anticipating the race as well. The dirt was hardened and the race was moved back to “fast” status. As the 133rd running of the Derby, it proved to be a fine day for a race. The two top horses going into the race were the 9-2 favorite Street Sense and the 5-1 second place horse Curlin. Both were attempting to upset history and take home the victory. Close behind them in the favorites were Scat Daddy (7-1) and Hard Spun (10-1).
